Mumi
& Bubi – giving little food critics a solid
start
Making
the transition from breast or bottle to solid food is
as daunting as it is fun. The very idea of cooking up
multiple food combinations to be potentially rejected
by your toughest critic is a hard fact to swallow. The
good news is that sooner or later you’ll hit a combination
that’s a winner and then there’s no looking
back!
Getting
prepared for the introduction to solids is made super
easy with the fantastic Solids Starter Kit from Mumi &
Bubi. It has everything you need to get started –
a set of two freezer trays, each with twenty one grooves
that each hold two tablespoons of food. Made from non-toxic
plastic, each tray comes with a lid that fits snugly to
ensure easier stacking and prevent the dreaded freezer
burn.
A
recipe book is also included with a staggering twenty
seven recipes! It also has a great guide to making sure
your baby is ready for solids, helpful information on
quantities for shopping and nutritional information.

Comments from Babyology:
I have one
of these and absolutely SWEAR by it for those weaning
months, and even beyond. I still use it to freeze small
portions of leftover soup/stew/whatever for handy snacks
and small lunches, my son is now 3! Back when we were
weaning him they were available at Safeway/Woolworths
too. A word of warning though.. try not to get too creative
or you will raise a food snob like I have done!! Expects
a gourmet delicacy every night :D Danyelle
I
bought two of these trays almost 4 years ago, for transitioning
my daughter onto solids, and I kept it and used it for
my son. They’re great and so easy to push out each
portion. Like Danyelle, I’ve used it beyond just
weaning – as something as simple as an additional
ice-cube tray, to jelly moulds (when I’ve made too
much jelly), or to freeze fruit portions to add to desserts.
Friends have used other types of trays or containers for
their kids, but haven’t liked them as much. These
also don’t take up much room in the freezer. Ursula
